Biography
Mr. Donald Wolfe, age 75 of Rockmart passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009.
Mr. Wolfe was born on March 19, 1934 in Polk County, son of the late Paul Ladelle Wolfe and the late Sarah Elizabeth Wood Wolfe. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Wolfe was also a former police officer with the Satsuma Alabama Police Department and the first motorcycle police officer for the City of Cartersville. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Mr. Donald A. Lyle; two sisters, Mrs. Janice Richardson and Mrs. Freda J. Coe; and three brothers, Mr. Roy L. Wolfe, Mr. Doyle E. Wolfe and Mr. James N. Wolfe.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Lanier Wolfe of Rockmart; three daughters, Teresa A. Segars and husband Keith of Middleburg FL, Rita K. Young and husband Randy of Ft. Campbell KY and Kim D. Robbins and husband Scott of Calhoun; a step-son, Larry S. Lyle and wife Andrea of Rockmart; two brothers, Cecil L. Wolfe of Rockmart and Jerry M. Wolfe of Atlanta. Fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Wolfe will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyt Lewis, the Rev. Danny May and the Rev. Jerry Wolfe officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Polk Memory Gardens.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Roberson, Jeff Phillips, Mason Richardson, Kevin Richardson, Brian Richardson and Michael Wolfe.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Roy L. Wolfe, Jr., David Hooper and Johnny Garrett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 13th between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Willard Donald Wolfe.
