Biography

Mr. Kenneth Willis, age 63 of Rockmart passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

Mr. Willis was born on November 26, 1946 in Polk County, son of Myrtice Jane Lee Willis. He retired from the State of Georgia as a bridge inspector and was a member of the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church. Mr. Willis was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. William Henry Willis on December 3, 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Perry Willis of Rockmart; a son, Kenneth Adrian Willis and wife Cindy of Rome; his mother, Myrtice Jane Lee Willis of Aragon; a brother, William (Bill) Willis and wife Joan of the Cashtown community; and a sister, Ellen Carol Willis Jordan and husband Johnny of Cartersville.

Funeral services for Mr. Willis will be held on Friday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Chris Wallace, David Burnley, David Mixon, Jacob Hulsey, B. L. Abernathy and Matt Paschal.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, March 4th between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.

Those wishing to do so, may make a contribution to the Georgia Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 922 East Morris St., Dalton GA 30721 in memory of Mr. Willis.
