Mr. Grady Glenn White

September 12, 1919 - January 26, 2016

Mr. Grady Glenn White, age 96 of Douglasville, Georgia formerly of the Yorkville Community passed away Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016. Mr. White was born September 12, 1919 in Paulding County, son of the late Isaac Odom White and the late Lucy Ann Brown White. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. Mr. White was a member of the New Georgia Baptist Church of Villa Rica and retired from the US Postal Service in Atlanta. He loved the outdoors and gardening. Mr. White was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Audrey Lee Akins and Miss Grace White; and three brothers, Mr. Dorsey White, Mr. Thomas Isaac White and Mr. Otto White. Survivors include his wife, Julia Robinson White to whom he was married July 2, 1949; a son, Tim L. White and his wife Bonnie of Temple; grandson, Shaun Timothy White; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. White will be held on Friday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Dr. James R. Burdette officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Yorkville Cemetery with Dr. James R. Burdette and Pastor Keith Stell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 28th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mr. Grady Glenn White.
