Mr. Milton (Mickey) Robinson

Mr. Milton D. (Mickey) Robinson, age 79 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home. Mr. Robinson was born October 23, 1936 in Rockmart, son of the late James Roy Robinson and the late Stella Wallace Robinson. He was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church and a retired auto mechanic having worked for Pugmire Lincoln Mercury. Mickey was a ham radio operator, loved fishing and enjoyed picking at others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Davis; and three brothers, James Robinson, Wallace Robinson and Robert Sanders. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Sanders Robinson to whom he was married December 24, 1955; five children, Vickey Atkins and husband Stanley of Rockmart, Rodney Robinson and wife Carol of Marietta, Barry Robinson and wife Connie of Acworth, Pam Toney and husband Michael of Tampa, Florida and Tyrone Robinson and Penny Moore of Rockmart; brothers, Billy Robinson and wife Louise of Rockmart and Goldin Sanders and wife Sue of Cedartown; sisters, Merina Sanders of Cedartown, Joyce Courtney and husband Warren of Marietta and Rachel Smith and husband Stanley of Dallas. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Amy Fuller and husband Keith and Griff Atkins and wife Nikki of Rockmart, Shayne Robinson of Dallas, Kristin Sockwell and husband Michael of Acworth, Jonathan Robinson and wife Elizabeth of Dallas, Brittney Woods and husband Rob of Marietta and Adam Parks and wife Holly of Canton; 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his beloved grand-dog “Akino”. Funeral services for Mr. Robinson will be held on Monday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis, Jr. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the church cemetery. Mr. Robinson will lie in state at the church on Monday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Griff Atkins, Shayne Robinson, Jonathan Robinson, Adam Parks, Tony Robinson and Roy Robinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, April 17th between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mr. Milton D.
